Trust & Safety
Velohood provides tools that help bike owners and renters communicate, document handovers and make informed decisions.
Current limits of platform protection
Velohood currently does not provide insurance, identity verification, escrow or a guarantee against damage, non-payment or disputes. Payments are arranged directly between users. Review the bike, terms and the other party before confirming a rental.
Account verification
Every account must confirm their email address before it is activated. Anonymous or unverified accounts cannot place or accept bookings on the platform.
Listing moderation
New bike listings go live immediately, but our team monitors listings and reactively removes or sends back for correction any that do not meet our standards — inaccurate photos, missing information, or bikes that are not in rentable condition.
Reviews and ratings
After every completed rental, both the renter and the owner are invited to leave a review and rating. These are publicly visible on profiles and help users make informed decisions about who to rent to or from.
Reporting
Any listing or user can be reported using the report button available throughout the platform. Reports are reviewed by an administrator, who can warn, suspend, or permanently ban accounts found to be in violation.
Condition documentation
Owners and renters can upload before and after photos for each booking, documenting the bike's condition at handover and return. This creates a clear record in case of any dispute about damage.
